Springbond Underlay was chosen this year as one of Kevin’s Green Heroes for the 2021 Grand Designs Live show.

Every year Kevin McCloud’s Green Heroes celebrate the best conceptual and eco-friendly construction ideas.  Kevin personally selects his top heroes for each show, from small-scale start ups to big businesses setting a green example for the rest of the industry.

Springbond is eco-engineered in a state of the art manufacturing facility in West Yorkshire and was developed to provide an environmentally conscious alternative to PU Foam that doesn’t compromise on performance.  Designed to be; Greener – we use over 85% recycled PET plastic, the equivalent of over 180 bottles per roll plus the material is 100% recyclable after use.  Cleaner – Springbond is dust free and emits virtually no VOC’s. Quieter – Springbond offers industry leading acoustic protection from impact sound transference.  Safer – made from clean and inert recycled PET, Springbond is also chemical free, making it safer for fitters and users and is a hypoallergenic product which has recently been awarded Allergy UK’s Seal of Approval.

Not only do our products have an impressive set of environmental accreditations, but our factory also hosts a 269kWp capacity solar system, a smart LED lighting system, ISO 14001 accreditation and an ever growing fleet of electric cars.  Texfelt are continually striving to reduce their environmental impact whilst manufacturing products that are both kinder to the environment and safer for the end user without compromising on performance.
